The Super Mario Cloud High Issue was inspired by the playful nature of this London summer, requiring me to wear a coat one day and allowing me to put on a bikini the very next. When the bikini days grace the city, people have to be outside. You know how some towns get Snow Days or Flood Days, making it so that kids don't have to go to school? London gets Sun Days. One Sun Day, I was sitting on a sidewalk outside a Union Teesdale private view, discussing goals and the concept of achievement with friends, envisioning hitting that all time high when a donut came flying at us from out of nowhere. We looked at the building across the street and saw a naked little kid standing by the window, laughing his ass off. He missed us by two inches. The splat was powerful. Shortly after, my friend continued, "Yeah so if you could work with Cory Arcangel, would that be the ultimate all-time high?" And I was all like, "Nah, that would be Super Mario Cloud high!" Then we talked about people/events that were hit-or-miss. To that I asked, what about hit and miss? And pointed at all the bruised, pretty girls in heels, circling around the donut, and taking pictures of it with their camera phones. The second issue of SIK provides instructions that will help you reach a certain level of bliss, not too high, but not too low. In some cases, you might miss your target, but that could be a very good thing. As it goes with super Mario clouds, you can jump on top of some, but not others.
